On Thursday May 6, 2010 M.O.D.A. (Members Of Designing Arts) presented Miranda Sullivan with the prom dress of her dreams. Miranda was selected specially to receive this opportunity from a handful of deserving students form Red Oak High School through the M.O.D.A. charity prom dress project. Miranda was involved from the very start from the design process to the selection of fabrics and she looked absolutely stunning in the teal evening gown last Saturday, May 8, at the annual Red Oak High School prom formal. M.O.D.A. organized a fabric sale fundraiser earlier in the year in which they raised money to fund Miranda’s prom experience. This money went towards purchasing fabric for the dress, dazzling jewelry and matching shoes. She also visited “Transformations Beauty Salon”, in which she received hair styling, makeup, and a variety of different a spa treatments. The creation of the dress and the completion of this project would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication from the M.O.D.A. officers and current M.O.D.A. members along with the generous support of students within the fashion program outside of M.O.D.A; students were Jonathon Aparicio, Emmanuel Tobias, Kristen Jackson, and Micheal Criggers . Also special thanks go to the faculty of Red Oak High School and the staff at Transformations Hair Salon for all the help and support.

Thanks,
Neil Marek
Vice President of MODA
